This casserole recipe is very versatile. You can modify it to your liking, and it will still taste wonderful! For sure, once you try this, you’ll love every inch of this family and kid-friendly casserole. Now, if you are looking for a new dish to include in your regular dinner rotation, this is it!
1/2 onion (chopped)
2 pounds ground beef
1/8 c. Worcestershire sauce
8 ounces shredded Cheddar Cheese
8 ounces shredded Monterrey jack cheese
(1) 32 ounces bag of tater tots
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tbsp Steak Seasoning
How to make Cheeseburger Tater Tot Casserole
Step 1: Cook the ground beef until brown. Then, add the chopped onions to the ground beef and continue to cook until soft.
Step 2: Now, add the steak seasoning, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce to the ground beef and onion mixture. Stir well until combined, then pour it in a greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
Step 3: Evenly spread the Monterrey jack cheese on the ground beef mixture, then top with a single layer of tater tots.
Step 4: Place the baking pan in a 375 degrees oven and bake the casserole for approximately 25 minutes, uncovered.
Step 5: Take the casserole from the oven and sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese. Place it back in the oven and resume baking until the cheese has melted.
Step 6: When done, remove from the oven and serve the casserole immediately with your favourite burger toppings. If desired, you can add extra onions, tomatoes, bacon, or pickles. Enjoy!
This casserole freezes well. Add the cheddar cheese on top, tent with foil, then freeze.
